My husband and I were in the mood for some Mexican food and we popped in for Throwback Thursdaze. I got the burrito special, which was a burrito filled with whatever you wanted, chips, and a drink for $5.99. That's not shabby. The hemp tortilla was good and I got it filled with steak, cheese, guacamole, and sour cream. The meat wasn't overcooked and the toppings made it even better. My husband got the nachos with all the toppings. He ate it faster than I could even blink. The service was exceptionally quick and it simply rocks with the decor and music. The funky vibe makes everyone feel welcome and you can put yourself to the challenge with all of those hot sauces they have available to try. I had a mild sauce at another location that I wanted to eat with my chips and the manager did her best to try to find it when we were there last night. She was very sweet and helpful. She even offered a bottle of sauce to take home with us since she couldn't find it. We gratefully declined and thanked her for going out of her way to do that.

They have an awesome new menu!! I really wasn't happy with there old menu. I enjoyed the tacos wasn't my favorite place to go for taco Tuesday!! But now with the new menu I will absolutely be back!! I loved what I ordered!! Sorry can not remember the name of it. I also had 2 desserts!! Churros with Carmel dipping sauce and some other dessert that was cookie dough filled wrapped around a tortilla. That came with chocolate dipping sauce. Love it!! Love the atmosphere and the staff is fun, funky, and very nice!! Never have to wait for a refill!!

I find myself more often saying, "How about Tijuana?" when the question for dinner arises. This is on account of MANY factors mixed together, but I'll boil them down to a simple list for you. Location - End of a shopping center with plenty of parking. It's easy to find and right on Jog Road. Food - Pretty darn tasty. While I limited my choices to a few things after trying the menu a few times around, I enjoy what I get (quesadilla, ATOM BOMBS[!!]) and the Hot Bar [hot sauce bar] is money. Beverages - They have beer! You can order a pitcher of beer, but only from three taps. Basics like Bud Light and Yuengling, while also having a revolving keg of something different, like Sam Adams seasonals. Service - HERE is the number one factor, folks. Top notch, A+ service. Not only do the ladies at the register always give service with a smile, but management goes above and beyond what is necessary to make sure you're having a fantastic dining experience. Whatever Tijuana Flats is doing to ensure their managers are always on their game, I have to give credit to their team for doing so. The manager at this location, Jose (I believe), surprised my group with some free chips & salsa, due to the fact that the beer I ordered had literally just ran out on the keg. I didn't ask for this, nor did it bother me that I had to switch my beer choice, but he wasn't taking "no" for an answer when it came to offering us some food goodies in place of an apology for running out of the beer. At the end of our meal, he wanted to check in again to make sure all was well. My boyfriends' food was great, except that he ordered queso to be added to one of his items and it wasn't there; he mentioned this to Jose, but said it didn't matter because the food was amazing anyways and there wasn't any point in complaining earlier. Jose was stunned - he wanted to make it right! He offered us another pitcher, or a dessert... we were really full, but thanked him anyways and said not to worry. Nope, he wanted to make it right - he brought us each a gift card and apologized about the beer running out and the food not being as we ordered. WOW!! Let's take note from this guy - management NEEDS to be like this every where. Jose went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that our experience wasn't soured by something miniscule and you know what? I was going to return regardless, but he legitimately "signed, sealed, and delivered" my return to this Tijuana Flats location indefinitely. :)

Always have seen this place and we were in the mood for some Tex Mex food and decided to stop by - rather than going to chipotle. Decor was pretty cool and when we got there - music was awesome as well and the vibe was pretty chill! it was not packed at all! I loved that because it was 2:00pm! The staff was very friendly and explained to us everything on the menu. We didn't wait long for our food and we had a chance to look at the sauces and wow, some of them it blew my mind! Sat down and ate our food - and I was very pleased with the food and the heat from the sauces! They actually had me sweating and was loving it! So - we are definitely coming back again.

I love this place and go there semi regularly. They have a pretty small beer collection (maybe 4 types) but they are decent beers. The staff consists of mostly mid to late teen girls which are all very friendly and helpful. They are very attentive to your wants at the table, especially for what you'd expect from that type of restaurant. On to the food. It is pretty decent, not the best food ever but definitely worth the money and atmosphere. The atom bombs are the bees knees. I usually get their chimichanga and enchiladas but their burritos, quesadillas, tacos, etc are all good. You should go ahead and try their desserts too. They have some pretty unique options and I've taken the plunge and liked it a few times. Overall the place is awesome. If you wanna hang out in a friendly environment and chow down on Mexican food while drinking then this is a great option. Going there blitzed is also pretty fun as they just giggle at my attempts to be coherent while ordering food. All good times... I actually don't think I've had a bad experience here.

My husband and I have ordered food here on many occasions. It has always been a hit and miss and now these days it has been more of a miss. The first few times it was great. Then it was just getting worse. I am not sure if they are not keeping the food fresh but we have been getting sick the last 3 times we have eaten at Tijuana flats. I think we have been to nice giving so many chances. We are done. For those who still continue taking the chance to eat here I suggest you take imodium before your meal!

Great food, love the salsa bar, great service, and managed very well. They come around to get refills, give you extra dips if needed...definitely recommend.

Great food, great service, all around great! We eat here multiple times a week. Even know they have a good deal- don't come on Taco Tuzeday. They are PACKED! I would definitely recommend the restaurant! By the way, if you like chips, order your chips on a separate plate for your order. You'll get a larger portion on a separate plate.

Not so bad. They have beer! It's faster food than a lot of drive through places I've been to in Miami so that should tell you something. So fast that my 17 yr old son commented on how quickly the food came out after ordering. Things that make you go hmmm.. But the complementary chips and salsa were good. And when my chickn buritto and my son's veggie buritto came less than 10 mins after ordering then who am I to complain about anything. The food was good and hot and tasty...hit the spot with us and made Tijuana Flats an a-ok stop for fast food. A wee lick of the floor with a hot mop though would have been nice...it looked a little skanky and paper strewn for those wee hours between the lunch and dinner hours

I love this place! Think of this place as your REAL Taco Bell! If you're looking for authentic Mexican food this is not the place for you. But if you think of this place like Taco Bell but with fresh meats you're going to love this food. They have tons of different kinds of hot sauces. If you are taking out I would suggest you call ahead because this place is no longer a secret and it gets packed! Their customer service is great! Taco Tuesday and Thursday Burrito is hard to beat!

Ok so we went back again tonight. The place is about a mile from our house. The staff there is so nice. That is what makes us go back. That being said, the food was different again. This time the beef still was saltly , but there was less of it. There was much more vegs on the taco. Probly to mask the salt. It just seems to me like they need to set standards . That would solve the problem of it being different everytime. Then they will have a forsure hit. The sauces are very good. They got from weak to omg please make it stop burning. Stop by you will see what, I mean.

The manager, Tom Naugles, was exceptional! I asked for his name as I knew that I would write a positive review. He was so catering to our table that I almost felt like I was in a full service restaurant. Both he and his staff were truly attentive. It was a pleasure to eat there. The food was also excellent, as usual.

My husband and I go in just about every Tuesday for you guessed it...Taco Tuesday! We just moved to the area about 3months ago and the staff and service at this location is never disappointing. Food is obviously delicious, otherwise we wouldn't go back. My husband loves the quesadilla, but kind of creates his own. He also loves the burrito and I have to second that! The tacos are my favorite thing on the menu, but I've tried a good portion of the options they have and have never been disappointed. Love the self serve hot sauce bar!

    (5)
  • Jimmy Y.

The service is very good and fast. The food has no taste and is very plain. Chipotle is right down the street, I would recommend you to go there. Also, their menu is way over priced. If you want tacos go to tacos al carbon or taqueria Guerrero. Stay away from here

    (1)
  • David K.

Love the enchiladas! My kids love the tacos, beans and rice. Probably the biggest draw is my kids LOVE this place. It's quick and convenient, reasonably priced and always kinda fun. When they ask for a name to go with our order, we always come up with some crazy name like Mickey Mantle, George Washington or Batman and they always play along. It's a step up from fast food and did I mention they serve cold beer too? One thing that's crazy about this location is that this area has been starving for new restaurants for a while now and then, all the sudden, we have three almost identical restaurants open within a 50 yard radius (Chipotle, Pollo Tropical and Tijuana Flats.) When given the choice of feast or famine, I'm taking feast every time!

What separates this from others is the genuine friendly service from all associates. Food plentiful and reasonably priced, plus FRESH BREWED Ice Tea, not that carbonated substitute so many places offer to save a dime. Definitely recommend.

Awful. Had taco salad, gross, disgusting, uneventful. Side of beans and rice is $2 for the smallest cup. Stay away try other Mexican American restaurants.

went for taco tuesday. i am longtime fan of moes and hoping for something similar. food was just alright to me, had a distinct taste to the chips and shells that i didnt like. on the plus side good portiin of meat. the staff and service was excellent and they went above and beyond, but i dont like the concept. u only get a couple toppings and they dont make in front of u, but u have to go up and order and they walk around calling ur name. u also cANT MAke ur own drink, but they ask to refill. store is cleam and ton of employees.

Great food. Best value is taco Tuesday. Staff is always helpful and food is made to order. Much better than Chipotle, a football field away.

  • Jason M.

Food is ok, not the best. Everything is mediocre, ambiance food and employees. I ordered the blackened chicken tacos. They were ok, and the chips are the same. There is Chipotle, Pollo Tropical and Tijuana Flats all within 1/4 mile. The wife had a burrito and was not too happy with it. Their salsa is bland and tasteless.

Great new taco shop I encountered. Not knowing anything about this place, I stopped by on a tuesday. Apparently its "Taco Tuesday" which is 2 tacos, chips, and a drink for $5. This is a big night for them as the line was literally out the door. It took 20 minutes to order. People in front of us decided to order on their phones and pickup at the takeway line which was much quicker. Lesson learned. The interior of this place was bright and fun. They have a large hot sauce bar which was cool. I actually just wanted some not burning hot salsa and that was nowhere to be found. I guess you need to order it. (and pay for it) I found it strange is that they fill your drinks versus a self serve option. This most definitively slowed down the line. They also were out of straws which is minor, but how does that happen?! After ordering, you sit down and they come find you to deliver the food. That part was quick. The food was hot and fresh. The tacos are pretty big and 2 was enough for me. You can also upgrade to Steak or Chicken for $1 more total on tuesday. Any other day and this place would not have been as good as a deal. I also don't appreciate not being able to add a single taco, everything is a combo or pairs. The food runners came back to check on us, refill our drinks, and offered more chips. Very nice. Also the manager stopped by to give some info about the company. These places are not franchises and after looking them up, I see they are everywhere. They have a very cool website, although this location was not listed on there. I did drop them an email and they fixed it right away. I'll definitely be back to try some new things. Its a great alternative to some other national chains.

Have been really disappointed with this place lately. We typically order once a week, mainly take out. The last few times when ordering chicken quesadillas there was literally no chicken in them. And this is a $7 menu item! Last time we asked for no cheese and when we got the items home there was a ton of cheese on the food. We had to drive back to the restaurant and get a replacement but not once did they offer to replace the meal for free and charged us the full amount. I will likely continue to eat here because the food is good (when properly prepared) and the choice of hot sauces is great but I hope management are reading this and can rectify the problem. If I see that it has improved over time I will update this review and star rating.
